For this first assignment, we gained a lot of experiences throughout the co-operation with our crewmates. During the pre-production process, we came out with several different ideas, covering narrative, documentary, and experimental films. The challenge is for us to decide and to give up some stubborn and finalize a good script, we thus choose a way that is more practical and realistic: ‘Can we execute this idea?’.

In the production period, we find that we have issues in limited time and equipment as we have to attend lectures during daytime and have to shoot during nighttime and weekends. Plus the shortages of equipment, we have to adjust our shooting schedule to fit all the elements: crew, cast, location etc. Meanwhile, as our script contains arguing scene which creates loud noise in the neighborhood, we have to finish it as soon as possible, so it made our shooting schedule very tight.

After shooting, the post-production is another way round. As some of our crewmate new to editing, but with no past experiences, we all have to co-operate and communicate how our final work would like to be. It therefore creating some conflicts between us, but I take this as a chance to practice the way to communicate with different crew with different personalities and style. Summing up, a good start for our BFA journey!
