Synopsis

Reflection

Assignment three is the final produc.on of this semester for us. As there are lesser limitations and criteria given this time, our team decided to make something different, and fresh – a TV Show with multi-camera switch and live stream production. This not only could imply what we have learned in the Mul.-cam workshop, but we could also gain experience in a field other than movie produc.on.

A TV show produc.on requires immediate onset reac.on and good communica.on with crew mates. It, therefore, we, arranged server all rehearsals before the shooting day to make good prac.ce in dividing the crew and cast members into small groups. Adjusting problems found as earlier as possible to engage a more effective and perfect show on the real shooting, so we could save time on set.

Also, our film includes an interview on street. We went to Tsim Sha Tsui on New Year’s Eve and interviewed some passers-by for their feelings and share hopes about the coming new year. We found that numerous passer-by is very shy or unable to share their thought thoroughly in front of cameras, which is understandable. We luckily met a group of Youtubers by chance, and they are very willing to be our interviewees.

In conclusion, a TV show seems like do not require detailed scripts, or pre-produc.on work, but actually, it needs a lot of immediate reac.on on set no maWer for the camera, sound operator, director, and other members of the team. This obviously trained us to work under high pressure and limited .me ( as we are shoo.ng the real countdown ), more importantly, team work helped us to finish the product on .me and perfectly.
